Is 3 Hours of Sleep Enough?
Three hours of sleep is not enough for anyone on a regular basis. It covers only two sleep cycles, less than half of the 7 hours the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) recommends for adults, and it leaves reaction time and memory clearly impaired the next day.

What the research says about 3 hours of sleep
Studies of severe sleep restriction show that after a night this short, attention lapses and reaction times look similar to those after a night with no sleep at all. If a 3-hour night is unavoidable, time it to end after two full cycles, avoid driving, and plan a 20-minute nap and an earlier bedtime the next day.
